>This guy does not have a hat. In the Lenin museum in Tampere I once heard a story about a Lenin statue, which had lost its head, and a new one was subscribed from a trustworthy sculptor. When the head came, they found it out that it had a hat on – the original did not – so he waved with one hat in his hand and the second on his head.
>You made me laugh !Unbelievable country and unbelievable men. I can image everything is possible with them.May be i can use your story ? In the near future I may need a good story of Tampere ….
>Yes, of course. The story was told by the manager of the museum, an old friend of me.
>Yet it has to be added, that in order to become a high level people’s artist, it would be a good idea to get appointed by a state or some regional area’s comissariate to make yet another statue of Lenin.Or Stalin. But not Trotsky. Not sure if the Brezhnev-Andropov etc. were equally important for the Soviet artist.
>I have seen them all, almost all.In the year 1974 I was in Helsinki, because I had entrance examination of the university.I saw Leonid Brezhnev, Gerald Ford, Nicolae Ceausescu, Erich Honecker, Josip Broz Tito and Olof Palme, all on Mannerheimintie.I lost my respectfullnes that day. They were statues allready ….
